Meet Ryan
Everyone Has a Place Here
Paris, ON — “If somebody asked me what The Raw Carrot was, I’d tell them it’s real soup,” he said. “It’s the soup that your grandma makes. It’s the soup you grew up with, just in a bag. Everything is made by us, and we know we were making a good product.”
For Ryan, the kitchen was more than just cooking. “Everybody has a place. It’s like a big puzzle. Everyone has their pieces that fit together to make the right product. If someone was missing, you could tell not just by their absence, but the soup itself changed. Even something like an onion being too big could affect it.” He appreciated how each person’s contribution mattered and how the team came together to create something meaningful. “Every little thing changes, and it’s interesting to see. We all rely on each other, and it feels good to be part of that.”
Working at The Raw Carrot gave Ryan a sense of purpose and belonging. For him, making soup was about teamwork, pride in his work, and knowing that everyone’s effort counted toward a shared goal.
Stories like Ryan’s show that when someone receives a hand up through supported work and a place to belong, they thrive. We invite you to get involved to help create more opportunities in even more communities across Canada.
